Assistant director surgical services in West View, PA

Graduate of an Accredited School of NursingLicensed as RN in State of VA or Compact StateEducation: Required- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current or pending license from Virginia State Board. Completion of a Perioperative Course/ on-the-job training. BSN required or actively pursuing.Experience: Required- Eligible to practice nursing in the state of Virginia. Five years of experience working in the OR as a Circulator and Scrub nurse. Preferred- two years management/ supervisory experience. Perioperative Educator experience a plus.Certification: Required- BLS. Preferred ? ACLS, CNOR Reports to: Director of Surgical Services Supervises: RNs, LPNs, STs, CSPT, US/NA, Schedulers, and as deemed.Responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the nursing care provided to patients having surgical or other invasive procedures including pre- and post- procedures phases of care. Supports the mission, vision and values of the organization. Primary responsibilities, not limited to the following:Ensure staff members provide safe patient care in the area managedDemonstrates strong and effective communication, consultation, negotiation, and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholdersUses effective conflict resolution techniquesOperationally and fiscally assist in managing the departmentEnsure staff compliance with organizational policies and accreditation standards, and governmental regulations, and professional standards of careAssists in the selection of staff membersProvides guidance, support, and constructive feedback to the perioperative teamsCoordinates, manages, and facilitates orientation and continuing education for surgical services department, including the Periop 101 course from AORN
